Two virtual support spaces for women of color starting soon!

We're excited to announce two, ongoing and virtual support spaces starting soon and led by TREC DC therapists Dr. Aysha DeSilva and Alice Lee!

 

They will be providing an every other week virtual support space for women of color, with an ask that folks commit to attending for at least 6 sessions (across 12 weeks). 

 

The other space is specifically for therapists who are women of color, again every other week for at least 6 sessions.

Women of Color Support Circle

 

TREC DC is offering a Women of Color 6-session group space for those who identify as a women of African, Latinx, Middle Eastern, Asian, Native American, Multiracial, Indigenous, and Pacific Island descent who have experienced racial trauma in the community (e.g., in educational settings, as clinicians of color, or in other organizational spaces). Led by BIPOC clinicians, the Women of Color Circle will offer participants with psychoeducation on racial trauma, supportive discussion, and additional resources for coping with racial trauma.

 

Participants must reside in the United States and be 18 years or older. The group will meet virtually and biweekly on Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30pm (Eastern Time) for 6 sessions, exact start date TBD.  Sessions fees are determined by a “pay what you can” model, with a $25 suggested cost per session, with the option to pay more if able or less if cost is a barrier. Women of Color Therapist Support Circle

 

TREC DC is offering a Women of Color Therapist Support Circle, providing a safe and nurturing space for women of color therapists to heal, grow, and find solidarity. Led by two therapists who identify as women of color, we'll explore topics such as intersectional identities, challenges in the therapy space, racial and cultural trauma, stress and burnout management, and self-care practices. This circle welcomes therapists from diverse backgrounds, emphasizing respect, confidentiality, and mutual support. Join us as we navigate our professional journeys with resilience, authenticity, and sisterhood.
