New groups and workshops at TREC DC!

As we enter this month of November, we may find ourselves surrounded by a mix of emotions that tend to “gather” at this time of year. Whether the emotions be tied to upcoming holidays, family, and/or the continued stress in our world, we invite you to check in with yourselves about what support you are needing (and wanting) at this time. We at TREC DC would like to share with you some new and upcoming services that we hope can help provide some support. We also are available to schedule no-cost phone consultations to discuss options are available and help connect you with services you may need. Please email us at admin@trecdcpsychotherapy if you would like to schedule this consultation. Starting Thursday, 11/11, Dr. Lea Didion, one of our co-founders, will begin providing a Trauma & PTSD Information Workshop which will provide information on common responses to trauma and options for treatment. This workshop is designed to be attended one time, and will be offered twice per month (though participants are welcome to return if they have continued questions or want to hear the information again). Please see more information below on this workshop and how to register. Also ongoing is our weekly Mindful Mondays Workshop, which provides brief education about mindfulness and trauma healing as well as an opportunity each week to practice a different mindfulness exercise. Again, more information is below including the registration link. We are also excited to begin offering Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i) to help individuals struggling with consistent sleep (getting to sleep and/or staying asleep). We are able to provide these sessions at a reduced rate of $30/session as part of our training program, meaning that these sessions will be provided by a TREC DC trainee under the supervision of a licensed TREC DC clinician. Also coming soon (more details to come!):

-8-week Race-based stress and resilience group ($100/session, limited reduced fee slots available), starting 1/8/22

-10-week Trauma Information group ($100/session, limited reduced fee slots available), starting 1/8/22

-Sleep Improvement Workshops (details TBD)

-Friends & Family Support Group (details TBD) Finally, here are those additional details about our workshops and CBT for insomnia. Please let us know if you have any questions about our services, or about additional needs that we can help connect you with in our broader DC community. And follow us on social media for more information and community resources!
